What is the average size box used to build out a kitchen?
We build kitchens on trucks of all sizes, however, the most common box size is 16 ft. This is the best compromise for fitting large/versatile amounts of equipment while still being mobile with easy maneuverability.
What is your typical build time?
The actual hands-on fabrication time is approximately 4-5 weeks. However, it is important to consider the planning time needed for floor plan approval and graphic wrap design. In most cases, when all of the planning elements are considered, 6-8 weeks is the start to finish lead-time.
Do you build to code?
Yes. We can build to any codes that you provide us.
Will I need a commissary?
In some towns/cities, it is required to have a commissary in connection with your food truck. This is basically home base for the truck and is where any cleaning, emptying of water tanks, draining of grease, trash disposal, etc. should take place. However, it is not required in all towns/cities and it is best to research this requirement to ensure that you are within town compliance.
Do I need a permit to run a food truck?
Yes, food trucks must be permitted to operate. There are permanent 1-year town/city permits as well as temporary permits for special events. Generally, temporary permits are simpler and faster to acquire but the permanent permit for a town/city would be needed if you plan on operating long-term in a particular town/city.
Do I have to have a special drivers license to drive a food truck?
Believe it or not, there is no special license needed to drive a food truck-just your standard driver's license.
Do you offer a warranty on the vehicle?
If the vehicle is new, it is covered under the manufacturer's warranty which is 5 years bumper-to-bumper and 3 years power-train.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes, we warranty our craftsmanship and fabrication. However, even if it is past the warranty period, we can assist, guide, and still offer our services.
Is the equipment covered by a warranty?
All of the equipment that is installed on the truck is new and under full manufacturer's warranty which are usually 1-3 years-depending on the actual piece of equipment.
What means of financing are available for both used and new model year trucks? (Why do you use FORD for your new trucks?
We have a partnership with a Ford dealership to offer financing for the truck AND fabrication together as one monthly payment. This would only be available if you choose to have us build on a new Ford vehicle. If you choose to have us build on a used vehicle, we have multiple financing partners that can work with you. Just ask your Sales Representative for the contact information if either of these programs are a good fit for you.
What do you offer in the area of after- care customer support?
After-care customer support is a strength that we are very proud of. When you receive the truck from us after fabrication, although the build is complete, we are always there for you to answer troubleshooting questions, give guidance/advise, and welcome you to bring your truck to us for servicing. Our long-term relationships with our food truck owners show just how supportive we are.
Can I provide my own truck and or equipment for fabrication?
Absolutely. You are welcome to provide your own truck for us to build on. This will eliminate the vehicle cost portion of your project. For equipment, you are welcome to provide large appliances such as a refrigerator, flat grill, etc. However, there are certain parts of the fabrication that are done just so” with our internal equipment and preferred pieces. Generators, metals, plumbing fixtures, etc. are some examples of items that we must provide to you.
Do you deliver and at what cost? PS Also so we ship overseas?
Yes, we can deliver the truck to you. Even if we deliver to your location, we will still give you and your team a full-run-through of the operation of all equipment and systems. We can even ship internationally and overseas!
Can you send me some pictures of work you have done exterior and/or interior?
We have built truck of all concepts and types. Once you speak with on of our knowledgeable Sales Representatives, they would be happy to send you pictures of recent projects that are similar to your needs.
Can I come to see your facility?
We absolutely encourage you to come to see our facility and inventory of trucks! It is the best way to get a full understanding of our capabilities and the overall process. We would be happy to give you a tour of our 20,000 square foot facility and have you step on the truck to get the true experience and visualization.
